Spring Fever

Well this Friday is the official day, I believe. But as the kids were running across the lawn this afternoon, after the bus let them off, jumping over the last few piles of snow that are still lingering, we noticed our first crocus of the year. Although being New England we are almost guaranteed another snow storm, but never the less it gives us reason to celebrate. The pussy willows are ready to be harvested, so this is evidence enough for me that spring is here.

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
~Mark Twain

Daniel named the flower “Lavender” and is torn between picking the flower and giving it to a friend on the bus or letting it close up tonight and reopen again tomorrow. He is outside watering it in hopes he can decide.
James wants to pick it and give it to mom.
Rebecca would like to sit and play with it.

I am sure the lone crocus wished it had appeared somewhere else……….. Well it has been decided; you may notice in James picture that the crocus has been picked.

Happy Spring everyone!
