Psychologists' License

Well it turns out that I will not be able to get the psychologists “New” license (which we found out expired last month) signed and notarized before we leave. He is running a summer camp and short of hiring a notary and driving up to get his signature it is not going to happen. He said he would be back in civilization next Wednesday (26th), and could sign it then, but (even with overnight pre-posted envelopes) it would never make it to Boston to be Apostilled and on to Portland, Maine before we leave. So I guess we will see what happens, either our trip will be postponed or the paperwork will have to catch up to us. But after a year and a half of working towards this goal we just can’t stop because of one signature. We just cant postponed again…………...we just came so far and are so close!... …………… so I am packing and moving forward and hope for the best, we don’t have control over this.

For those who are not familiar with the process, it is now required for the adopting couple to have an evaluation done, of them, by a psychologist and have a report sent to Kazakhstan, as part of their dossier.

Hang in there! I think your paperwork will catch up with you. We've seen a DHL truck at the Astana Towers (office building near the Ramstore) several days on our way back from the baby house. I haven't seen any FedEx or UPS, but DHL does overnight (whatever the international fast version is). I'm sure MAPS has had to deal with this before. It will all work out.
